We all know that Augmented Reality will change our world and allow us to interact with our surroundings much more, and Hidden Creative’s Gesture Controlled Window Displays is going to do just that.
Two new interactive gesture recognition and augmented reality solutions were launched yesterday, which allow retailers to promote and showcase their products and drive footfall into store, with attention grabbing window displays.
By using the AR you can control the display by using hand and body gestures. You will be able to navigate through visuals of the shops favourite products, andcheck stock, locate products in store and even make purchases.
Pretty impressive stuff and integrating online and offline is always great but, why would customers bother going into a shop at all? This is just online shopping with the extra costs of petrol and car parking!
Even with the advent of virtual changing rooms, why would these solutions make us go into the shops?
I think the bonus of these window displays will be seen late at night when people may tipsly go and buy items they probably wouldn't if they had to go inside and deal with the staff.
It will be interesting to see how it changes our spending and if it boosts brick and morter shops - only time will tell!
