What is your Twitter type?

By Editor

It has been 5 years since Twitter came into our lives - we found in it an outlet that we never even knew we needed and it quickly gained popularity. Twitter recently revealed it has 100m active users, averaging 230m tweets a day and its website has 400 million monthly browsers.

So, what kind of Twitterer are you?

Re-tweeter: You spend a large amount of time just thanking others for following you, you like to retweet FF's that have your name in them

Talk to me: You constantly ask questions, hoping for a response

Company: Two categories really, you either push your product and use hash tags in an inappropriate way i.e. Habitat (Self-promoters) or you try and offer value, tweeting industry related comments amongst the self promotion.

Fake hotty: You have a gorgeous picture of a girl so others will follow you, but it is likely you are a middle aged man still living with your parents

Music is my life: You love music so much that is all you can tweet about - whether a song reminds you of an emotion, the words have meaning or just whatever you are listening to

Star hunter: You are desperate to get celebrities to interact with you, just to be able tell the world – you may not always be aware that sometimes ‘celebrities’ are just PR people

Gossip: You want to be part of everything, find out the dirt, but don’t really want to interact with others

Searcher: You spend your twitter time constantly hunting trends or using the search to discover other people who are talking about whatever you want to talk about

Spammer: Are you a real person? These spam bots retweet/comment on anyone who tweets a specific phrase

Escapist: Use the micro-blogging site when you want to rant/talk about something but have no interest in anyone commenting

Desperate: You just want people to follow you, you have signed up to follow me, I follow back and you don't interact with anyone

Exclusive: You follow five people that you find interesting and you have blocked your account from anyone following you

Worthy: You have a good mix of valuable information, re-tweets and interactions between followers and non-followers

There are probably a bunch more Twitter types... what are you?
