The buzz about + has been quietly going on for about a year, but it is getting louder - a new social network that will change our lives and will compete with Facebook and Twitter.
That is one heck of a challenge - at the moment + is in limited field trial, and although we haven't tested it yet there are some people who have... have a look at the pro's and con's of the + here http://bit.ly/kEd5ND (Technology Review)
It actually seems that Google+ is better than Facebook, Twitter and Skype - in some areas such as Mobile Sharing and Organising friends. But, the one thing that it can't achieve through software and testing is the popularity of those other sites.
Facebook has over 500million active users and Twitter has 175million registered users - although Google is no start-up, many either use the company for its search engine or gmail, are they likely to interact with it further?
We know from Google failures like Google Wave, Google X, Google Answers and even its attempts at Social Networking such as Buzz and Orkut - which was released in 2004 and is only popular in Brazil - buzz was quickly hidden and Orkut never reached the popularity of FB - that Google will keep on rolling out solutions.
And, with all the testing that Google+ is doing, the product is sure to be technologicaly advanced, offering something that people may need in their lives but without the push and interaction from users and celebrity endorsment it may just fall by the wayside, remembered only for Google Flops.
